Registrants consent to operate according to best business practice, one example of which is: “All registrants for a .XXX domain name must agree to permit automated monitoring of their sites for compliance with IFFOR policies, including without limitation, IFFOR policies requiring site labeling, prohibiting child abuse and or images of child abuse, and prohibiting content or conduct designed to suggest the presence of child abuse images.”

What is “non-resolving” domain name?

Non-resolving domain name is for those who are non-members of the adult Sponsored Community/Adult Entertainment Industry. The intention is to protect their intellectual property for personal domain names, company domain names, product domain names, etc. that didn't have prior qualifying rights under Sunrise phase.

Will applicants outside of the Sponsored Community/Adult Entertainment Industry be able to block their non-trademarked names, or will a trademark be required?

During General Availability, non-member Registrants will be able to register any name they like. This is done on a first come, first serve basis. The name will not resolve if the Registrant does not authenticate the member. This effectively blocks the domain from use by any member of the Sponsored Community/Adult Entertainment Industry, as long as the Registrant continues to renew the domain name.

Is the non-resolving domain name registered resolve to the same standard information page indicating the status of the name as reserved – like in Sunrise B?

No, non-resolving domains are actual registrations that have the nameserver information removed at the Registry level so the domains will simply not resolve. The WHOIS will indicate the contact information of the domain name. Whereas, in Sunrise B, the domain name is instead blocked at the Registry level and there is no ownership. WHOIS reflects ICM Registry.
